Elias Lindert is the author of the novellas Convalesce and Tacos in Chicago, the latter of which was praised by Karen Joy Fowler as "[W]onderful ... An impressive debut." His award-winning short fiction and nonfiction has appeared in a variety of print and digital publications, garnering Epiphany Magazine's top fiction prize, placing in Glimmer Train and Narrative Magazine contests, and receiving an acceptance by the Michigan Quarterly Review. He is the editor of the anthology, New Voices of a Changing Myanmar, for which he sought out and compiled short stories by talented young Burmese writers.

He has spent much of his life as an expatriate in Thailand, Cambodia, Bolivia, Myanmar, Colombia, and now Greece, where he is based in the city of Thessaloniki, writing and teaching
